What did Mayim Vega do before Arukah?

Mayim worked as a computer scientist at NASA Ames Research Center. After marriage and children, she left NASA to work from home, building websites, apps and digital marketing for Silicon Valley technology companies. Those research and business skills later shaped how she studies healing and how she teaches others to build online practices.

What health crisis started her journey?

Debilitating migraines. Doctors feared a brain tumor; the tests came back clear, but no one could explain the pain. Mayim came to believe her vegetarian and vegan diet had left her depleted, especially in vitamin B12. Restoring B12 and nourishing foods like eggs, dairy and fish, along with rest, less overwork and deeper trust in God, became part of her healing.

How did motherhood shape her approach?

Raising her children holistically made her home the first classroom of the Arukah Method. She learned to care for her family with herbs, nourishing food, vitamins, rest and prayer.

What was her second health crisis?

Years later, Mayim faced severe hypothyroidism during one of her family's hardest seasons, after she and her husband took in two young relatives who carried deep trauma. Her recovery involved a nutrient-dense, carnivore-style reset, learning about iodine, and marriage coaching, life coaching and faith. It confirmed her conviction that the body can't be separated from the emotions, the home or the soul.

What does arukah mean?

Arukah is a Hebrew word meaning complete, enduring restoration. Mayim chose it because her healing wasn't just relief from symptoms; it was restoration of the whole person. Read more: What does arukah mean?

What does Arukah teach?

Arukah trains students in three pillars: naturopathic herbalism, holistic life coaching, and online business & marketing (the Holisticpreneur Program), organized around the five levels of the soul. Students have included mothers, entrepreneurs, nurses, doctors and nutritionists, as well as people with no medical background.

What is Mayim's message?

In her words: “Listen to your body, seek truth, trust the Creator, nourish yourself deeply, remove what harms you, and become the healer of your home and community.”
